Procurement Buyer - Maternity Cover

Length of contract - 9-12 months

Based: Enterprise House Ashford

Role purpose

The Procurement Buyer will be responsible in driving profitability through a well sourced product range, whilst managing our supplier base and delivering market beating deals and buying income across all elements.

In addition clear KPIs within buying role are to:

Deliver total category & procurement buying income target

Deliver category cash margin growth & overall gross cash profit of UK business.

Control cost of goods and deliver terms improvements with our supplier base

Reduce customer complaints

Manage availability and full service levels with our suppliers

Source responsibly and deliver our CSR credentials.

Implement and manage Business Plans with key partner suppliers

Key Accountabilities

To source the most cost effective & best quality new and existing products that meet the needs of our customers total category & procurement buying income target.

To successfully negotiate, manage and complete contract negotiations delivering cost and operational efficiency across the Group and our Constellation (European) partners where applicable.

To manage your supplier base, negotiating terms, developing joint business plans & delivering improved profitability, product and service levels.

To work cross-functionally with our category, technical, pricing, finance & supply chain teams to deliver optimum product that meets all quality and service level KPIs & customer needs.

To ensure products are sourced responsibly throughout the supply chain and to work accordingly on delivery our CSR credentials and policies of the business.

Knowledge, skills, experience and competencies

Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels both internally & externally

Experience of buying, supplier/contract negotiation and delivery of significant cost savings combined with commercial problem solving abilities

Strong planning, organisational & prioritisation skills

Ability & examples of showing resilience under pressure

Must display ethical and moral values of business and show a willingness and desire to work cross-functionally in a team whilst taking accountability for results and decision-making.

MS Office - minimum of intermediate excel, word and PowerPoint

 

Additional Information

The role may involve some travel for both the UK and Overseas so a degree of flexibility is required.
