Sheppey Prisons in Kent, Long-term Temporary Contracts based on 20.25 hours per week.
£8.44 premium rate (inclusive of holiday).
Shift Pattern: Tues 3pm - 8pm, Wed 3pm - 8pm, Fri 11.15am - 5pm, Sat 7.30am - 12.30pm

Overview of the position:
As the sole agency supplier to the HM Prison Service for the provision of maintenance trades & support operatives, Hays is seeking to recruit Part time Order Distributers/ Service Support staff for Sheppey Prison in Kent. Immediate start if you are already Prison Cleared.
This is a Temporary Contract with a rate of £8.44 per hour. Based on an average of 20.25 hours per week. There may be an option to apply for the permanent position subject to performance.

Tues 3pm - 8pm, Wed 3pm - 8pm, Fri 11.15am - 5pm, Sat 7.30am - 12.30pm
You will need to demonstrate flexibility with regard to shift and rota working.

The Order Distributer/ Service Support role is in a unique working environment with a strong sense of team working. Always in demand, you could benefit from long-term contracts and there is also potential, once trained, to work in other prisons both locally and nationally.
You must be local to the prison or have your own transport to get to site. You must be Physically fit and capable of manual handling and lifting. Basic Uniform will need to be provided by the temporary worker in most establishments, the Prison/ Contractors will supply high visibility clothing and protective headwear, along with any other specialist safety equipment if required.

Purpose of the role:
As part of the Order Distributers Team you will be responsible for the distribution of orders to prisoners.
You will be required to manage the distribution of the canteen service, ensuring all company functions are carried out to ensure the safe, efficient and accurate distribution of orders to prisoners.

Scope of the role:
Assist with the co-ordination the dispatch orders to prisoners
Ensure orders are distributed within the agreed times.
Handling stock with care and consideration to minimize damages.
Ensure all delivery queries are reported to Workshop Manager/Supervisors.
Ensure the returns procedure is followed in the event of stock being damaged or an unfulfilled order at distribution.
Comply with all Prison Service regulations, including security.
Ensure all relevant operational documents are completed accurately/timely.
Ensure that all daily duties, procedures and processes are completed and adhered to on a day to day basis to ensure a high level of service is received by the customer.
Full compliance to all Health and Safety regulations, ensuring that all Health & Safety policies and procedures within their areas of responsibility are complied with and fully maintained.
Ensure agreed KPI's are met.

Experience:
No formal qualifications or previous experience is required for this role.
A background in warehouse would be desireable.
The nature of the role requires candidates to be security conscious and able to challenge potential compromises and risks, you will also need to be reliable and consistent, level headed and have exceptional interpersonal skills.
The role requires those with excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to follow work procedures and instructions within a strong health and safety environment, simple math calculations and literacy, and to be able to use own initiative to solve problems and proactively implement the solution Successful applicants will have a background in logistics, customer services or security, and will be assessed based on the following competencies: Acting with integrity, respecting others, Building relationships and team working, communicating effectively, developing self and others.
Full training is provided by the establishment/ department. .

Security Clearance required:
Immediate start if you are already Prison Cleared. All applicants will be subject to the HM Prison Service Security Clearance procedure which can take up to 3 weeks, this can include a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check. You must hold a Valid Passport or Birth Certificate & Photo Driving Licence in your current address.
