DevOps Engineer - New Team Lead - IoT

Our client is now ready to build a new DevOps team. We are searching for a DevOps Engineer for their product engineering team in R&D. They are developing new IoT solutions with products ranging from their own hardware and embedded software products and sensors, to mobile applications, developer APIs and cloud services.
This new team will be responsible for building and maintaining the automated pipelines for simplifying the tasks of testing and deployment. They will also be responsible for ensuring all development tools and build environments are in place and operational together with the IT department.
As the first member of this DevOps team, you will have a huge impact on kick starting this culture. You will interface with all three feature teams (two software, one embedded). You will determine the requirements for the product pipelines, build them and ensure they are working, whilst identifying improvements. You will be in constant connection with these teams (in the UK and abroad), identifying common elements and authoring automation solutions.
You need to be a hands-on person, capable of installing servers, scripting, integration, etc. The overall pipelines needed include: Serverless deployment on Cloud, Desktop applications (Windows based), Docker containers and Firmware for Hardware products.
Experience Required:
- setting up continuous integration workflows and setting up SDLC pipelines
- deploying and operating large scale distributed systems
- supporting and maintaining a 24/7 production environment
- metrics collection and monitoring (AWS CloudWatch)
- task automation using Jenkins or similar tools
Skills Required:
- knowledge of Python or any other scripting language (Bash, Ruby, etc.)
- familiarity with Linux Containers (Docker or similar)
- knowledge of Cloud services (AWS experience preferred) (S3, Lambda, API GW, Congnito, DevOps suite, etc.)
- design and analytical skills
- excellent communication skills
- good knowledge of Linux/Unix
- strong understanding of automation and configuration tools such as Ansible, Chef, Jenkins
-desire to learn new technologies and keep up-to-date with all the latest tools
Desirable Skills:
- strong knowledge of data structures, operating systems and cloud technologies
- understanding of system performance and scaling
- good understanding of Agile/Scrum software development methodology
- knowledge of test frameworks and technologies (Selenium, Robotium, Espresso, Google Test Framework)
- good command over one or more programming languages: JavaScript (node.js), Java, C/C++ -understanding of network protocols and technologies
- knowledge of information security and best practices
