Social Media Officer
(Salary starting at £16,500 - dependent on experience).

Howletts Wild Animal Park & Port Lympne Reserve, in conjunction with the Aspinall Foundation, are a charity based organisation committed to protecting rare and endangered animals from extinction through captive breeding and reintroduction programs. The parks are home to one of the world’s most prized wild animal collections and are one of the biggest visitor attractions in Kent. Port Lympne Reserve is also home to many unique and award winning accommodations, from glamping to luxury treehouses.

We are looking to recruit a Social Media Officer to assist in promoting the work and products of our two wild animal parks. Working within the Communications team, you will be responsible for creating content, publishing content and managing social media accounts. Success for the Communications department relies on teamwork, and a creative and innovative outlook. This role gives the opportunity to take our social media platforms to the next level and help establish them as a major part of our integrated marketing strategy. Your will also be responsible for driving visitors to our online platforms by updating and reporting on our social media sites including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TripAdvisor, YouTube, and other relevant online channels.

Reporting to the Communications Manager, the role is based at Port Lympne, although regular travel to Howletts and other locations will be required. Therefore it is vital for applicants to hold a full UK driving licence and access to their own transport.

Dealing with customers and people at all levels is required so excellent communication skills; both written and verbal, are essential as well as excellent attention to detail. Previous experience in social network management along with first rate copywriting skills is desirable. The candidate must be proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premier video editing software and the Microsoft Office Suite.

With an immediate start, the role is permanent, working 40 hours per week over 5 days; Monday to Friday, but may include working weekends and bank holidays on occasion.
