Lead or Graduate Development Engineer
Recruitment Solutions (Folkestone) Ltd are looking to recruit a Lead Development Engineer & OR A Junior Development Engineer to join our growing client based near Canterbury. The role is to support company sales and profit growth by, achieving customer satisfaction through facilitating new product development and introduction. Providing first class support to the ongoing development of lean manufacturing techniques and the associated continuous improvement processes. You will contribute to the ongoing development of the Engineering team’s capability, including the selection, implementation and continuous development of engineering tools and processes.

All about the Role!
You will assist in the management or lead product development activities from concept through to customer acceptance. Certifying that developed products are of an excellent standard and fit for use, ensuring that they are produced in a cost effective and timely manner.

To project manage product development activities in a thorough and effective manner ensuring on time delivery and that projects are managed to budget, with a smooth handover to Production.

To accelerate new developments and products; liaising where necessary with suppliers, development partners to resolve threats to the programme and/or pursue opportunities for improvement.

Seek and identify and develop new business opportunities. Support Production and Purchasing to ensure the smooth implementation into series production of developed product; by contributing to the resolution of production problems and/or the introduction of new production processes.

To review and propose engineering systems, processes and tools to maximise business benefit / improvement initiatives for customer satisfaction and company profitability.

Support Quality in investigations, corrective actions, assessments and process improvements, where appropriate to new product developments. To input Technology Plan for the identification and development of appropriate technological developments to drive and consolidate business advantage.

Representing the company in product development meetings with customers both on and off site. Develop and maintain good working relationships with customers and suppliers.

All About You!
If you are applying for a junior role you will have/be:
• Degree or HND/HNC educated in Engineering
• Recent mechanical engineering skills with experience of working in a Development Role
• CAD experience
• Project Management experience MS Project preferred
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills along with a great team spirit
For the Lead role: In addition to the above you will have/be:
• AutoCAD 3D design tools
• Electrical skills would be an advantage
• Previous experience within a lead role or 4 – 5 years’ experience and seeking career progression.
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:00 to 17.30 and Friday 08:00 to 13:00
Salary – Competitive depending on experience
