My Client, is a Kent based company that provides a wide range of workzone safety solutions to the Construction Industry both domestically and internationally.
They are looking for an enthusiastic Product / Technical Manager.
They are a strong, developing company seeking the services of a candidate who can become a key player in helping to facilitate further, sustained growth within an excellent, forward thinking business. The post holder will have some relevant experience; between 2 and 5 years in a similar role and hold a relevant engineering qualification (or be working towards achieving one) and be able to demonstrate knowledge of;
• New Product Development and its associated testing, accreditation and certification.
• Manufacturing processes including an awareness of 3D modelling, interpretation and composition of manufacturing drawings.
• Preparation of User Instructions.
• Building and maintaining stakeholder relationships with key industry experts to maintain our position at the leading edge of product development in our sphere.
• Regularly reviewing the company’s product portfolio for suitability to meet the company’s strategic needs.
• Research and propose new or replacement products / systems as necessary to improve the company’s market positioning.
• Manage new or replacement product lines, covering all aspects of the cost effective delivery to the market;
• Assist in the management of supplier relationships to ensure the company benefits from the highest level of supplier service and support.
• Take ownership of technical and service issues with suppliers and implement effective solutions.
• Identify cost reductions in order to maximise the company’s gross margin returns without compromising on quality and innovation.
• Provide timely and effective technical and commercial support to customers and colleagues.
• Provide product training to customers or colleagues as may be required.
It is essential the successful candidate has excellent organisational and IT skills, being fluent in the Microsoft Office Suite and hold a strong knowledge of CAD packages such as Solidworks, having an engineering related background. Strong proven interpersonal skills are necessary to succeed in this position. The post holder will need to ensure tasks are carried out in a timely manner and according to agreed deadlines and be expected to take a leading role in Product Strategy Meetings contributing with ideas for new or replacement products, cost reduction opportunities and marketing initiatives.
