We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and experienced manager to lead and deliver effective management of Health and Safety across the Hadlow Group. This is a key management role within Hadlow College; the post holder will be responsible for ensuring that a safe, high quality learning and working environment is provided - as part of this commitment the successful candidate will be required :
• To provide comprehensive Health and Safety advice to the Executive, Senior Management, Managers and staff all staff and ensure compliance in all areas.
• To regularly review Group policies, practices and procedures and amend or update them as needed.
• To update all existing records and procedures and generate new ones where necessary in regards to Health and Safety.
• To act as the organisation’s lead competent person for health and safety as defined by the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.
• To ensure the organisation complies with current health and safety legislation approved codes of practice and guidance in relation to employment and service provision.
• To work proactively with managers to establish and maintain a system that promotes a culture of safe working practices across the organisation
The successful candidate will need:
• Significant relevant experience working within Health and Safety
• A Diploma in Health and Safety Management or Full NEBOSH Certificate – or equivalent
• Excellent understanding and knowledge of health and safety management strategies and best practice.
• Proven people management and leadership experience in a relevant management role
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Excellent IT Skills in Microsoft office and Management Information Systems
This role is full time role working 37 hours per week.
As well as a contributory pension scheme, health cash plan and free car parking, this post also attracts seven weeks holiday each year (excluding bank holidays).
The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check and provide proof of their right to work in the UK.
