Job Title: Deputy Manager
Hours: 36 hours on a rota basis
Salary: negotiable depending on qualification and experience
Location: Phoenix House, The Drove, Northbourne, Kent CT14 0LN
Phoenix House is a home for young adults which provides care and support for up to 24 people with Mental Health problems and Challenging Behaviour.
Job Description:
• Manage all members of staff including liaising with outside agencies
• Implement training/induction programmes for all Care Staff
• Ensure the highest level of care is delivered throughout the Home
• Quality management and audits
• Improve the quality rating from CQC
• Follow up enquiries on private beds
• To continuously evaluate the quality of care given, and regularly reassess the needs of service users in consultation with the service users, their relatives and the care team, and to action changes required to achieve planned goals.
• To provide a high standard of direct care to service users, based on the assessment of care needs and in consultation with the service users, their relatives and the care team.
• To administer and order medication
• Liaising with GP, chiropodist, occupational therapist, physiotherapist and other members of the wider care team
• Care planning and implementation of care plans
Candidate Specification:
• Be able to offer satisfactory DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) and references upon successful application
• Ideally you should have at 5 years previous managerial experience within a home care service. RMN qualification is an advantage.
• Excellent clinical skills and supervisory experience
• Ability to lead and motivate other staff member's
• Excellent communication skills and IT literate
• Understanding and clear knowledge of CQC standards
There will be a six month probationary period and after a year can be consider to be a registered manager.
Successful applicants are required to provide an enhanced disclosure. Disclosure expense will be met by the applicant.
