Catering Assistant

We have an exciting opportunity at Buckmore Park for a Catering Assistant. We are looking for an experienced Catering Assistant to assist our Catering Managers in this important part of our leisure facility.

We are looking for a self-motivated, experienced individual who is ready for a new challenge with experience in either contract or high volume catering.

Reporting to the Catering Manager/Deputy Catering Manager, this hands-on role will assume responsibility for the day-to-day running of Buckmore Park Café and the hospitality services at Buckmore Park during the Manager’s absence.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following: -

Food
- Responsible for cooking, presentation and organisation of meals, food and beverages as well as supervising some members of the team
with these responsibilities
- Managing the food and beverage provision
- Maintain stock levels and order supplies as required
- Monitor the quality of the product and service provided
- Menu planning
- Ensure health and safety regulations are strictly observed

Customer Service
- Interacting with customers
- Instilling excellent customer service skills in the team
- Strong and effective written and oral communication with both customers and team members

Person Specification
- Previous catering experience; cooking, cleaning down etc
- Strong communication skills
- Positive individual
- Efficient with the ability work in a fast-paced position
- Flexibility (as this position will include evenings, weekends and bank holidays)
- Own transport (due to our location and hours of work)

Buckmore Park is open from 07:30 – 23:30 (22:30 during the winter months) 7 days a week including bank holidays. This is a full-time position working 32 hours over the 7 days as per your rota shift, and changes happen so flexibility is a must, and you must be able to work some weekends and late evenings.
