Production Controller (Mezzanine Flooring)

£25K plus bonus and benefits

Exciting opportunity to join a fast growing structural engineering company, specialising in steel mezzanine flooring, as a Production Controller. The main purpose of the role is to ensure the on-time and to budget delivery of all components required for each Mezzanine Flooring installation project.

We are looking for someone with excellent office skills; someone who is computer literate, confident in speaking to people over the phone and the ability to multi task. You will have a strong level of Maths and English. A CIPS certification is desirable but not essential for this role, however you will posses strong project management skills, particularly planning and scheduling. You will be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. Exposure to having worked within structural steelworks or steel manufacturing, and/or Fabrication would be of benefit.

Main Duties:

To make purchasing decision that are cost effective and within budget.
To proactively manage project throughput including advising of project start dates and liaise with the contracts department regarding deliveries.
To proactively purchase long lead time components to avoid delays
To check next day deliveries and collections to identify delays
To work with the Group Procurement Manager to prevent fabricator overload
To work collaboratively with suppliers
To visit Fabricators to check outgoing products when required
Assist with accurate quotation of projects to support the business needs.
