Key Roles

 To maintain plant health and participate in the annual production cycle
 Plant husbandry tasks
 Large scale planting, harvesting and processing
 Identifying pests and diseases
 Spraying of crop protection products
 Maintain spray records
 Forklift driving
 Loading and unloading vehicles
 Irrigation management
 Keeping work and production areas clean and tidy
 Maintaining and cleaning tools
 Repairs and maintenance
 Identifying, picking and packing plants for orders
 Using tray filling machine
 Using transplanting machine
 Weekend Nursery rota
 Reporting hours of work on time every week

Key Responsibilities

Reporting

• To line manager daily

Communication

• To ensure effective communication with all staff, clients, suppliers and management.

Qualifications

• Full driving licence essential
• Forklift – Industrial masted counter balance certificate would be an advantage but training can be provided.
• NPTC PA1, PA6 – safe use of pesticides would be an advantage but training can be provided.
• Fluent English

Key Performance Indicators

• Accurate and timely completion of tasks
• Daily production in line with historically evidenced expectations



Standards of Performance

• Attendance – in accordance with fulfilling the role
• To be adaptable and flexible with hours of work.


Whilst most of the work will be based at Mersham, at busy times you will also be required to work on our other sites in West Hythe and Newchurch.
