Employing over 250 people, across three sites in the UK, Aeromet International Ltd is a major supplier of investment and sand castings to the aerospace and defence industries. With over 40 years’ experience we are continuously developing techniques and processes that enable us to form unique and lasting partnerships with the biggest names in industry.
The Rochester site is an investment foundry specialising in the production of aluminium pressure tight jet fuel connectors to the commercial aviation sector and we are seeking to recruit a CNC Machine operator.
Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 18.00 to 06.30 - 4 x 12 hour shifts. Whilst training, the successful applicant will be required to work on the day shift - Monday to Thursday 06.00 to 18.30.
The salary is negotiable depending on skills and experience, starting at £26k .
Benefits include 5 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays, a no-cost life assurance scheme and no weekend working.
The post holder will be responsible for the setting and operating of CNC multi task lathes and / or CNC Milling machines within a multi batch, high volume environment.
Key roles & responsibilities:
• Setting and operating of CNC lathes (turning)
• Setting and operating of CNC Milling machines
• Manual turning and milling
• Manual drilling
• Minor assembly work
• Understanding and interpretation of technical drawings
Essential Qualifications / Experienced required:
• Experience of setting and operating CNC lathes / milling machines.
• Experience in a manufacturing / engineering environment. Experience with Aerospace or Foundry process would be advantageous
• Ability to work as part of the machining team or independently
• Effective time management skills and the ability to work using own initiative
• Clear communication skills; written and verbal
• Good problem solving, organisation and recording skills
• Practical, hands on and solution focused approach
• Ability to be self-motivated; productively and proactively work to deadlines
• Ability to manage a varied and complex workload
