Procurement Analyst

The Role
Reporting to the Procurement Director - As a Procurement Analyst providing essential support to Buyers and Procurement Director of our Grocery, Drinks & Impulse team. You will provide strategic cost / margin analysis and insight, helping to drive strategy, identify trends and highlight opportunities. You will turn that understanding into workable action to drive better than market savings.

Main responsibilities

Focusing on a procurement category you will inform strategic decision and action on cost reduction / mitigation by driving costs out of the procurement chain. This will mean understanding cost and the key drivers, providing insight on market movement including competitor and retail cost position, exploring and explaining how to improve cost and tracking performance.
The role will involve working closely with buyers on negotiations. This may involve supplier meetings and exposure to senior representatives from brands and own label suppliers like Coca Cola, Unilever, Nestle, Princes, PepsiCo and Heineken.
Ideal candidate

Enthusiastic, results-orientated and tenacious with an appetite for continuous improvement, you should have a history of adding value in a fast-paced, complex commercial environment. Initiative, adaptability and persuasive communication are all essential. You must be able to build relationships at all levels, motivating and encouraging others to excel. Naturally, you`re well versed in financial analysis and modelling, able to interpret trends and results, and confident enough in handling complex data to deal with differing views.
Key skills and essential qualifications are:-

- Excellent MS Excel
- Anaplan knowledge an advantage
- SAP and Business Warehouse advanced user (Business Intelligence experience an advantage)
- NOT Required: Accountancy Qualification, although this could be an advantage.
