Our Structural Steelwork client based in Sittingbourne requires an experienced Estimator to cover contracts throughout London and the South East.
The role will involve:
• Working alongside the existing team of 3 estimators to prepare tender bids and financial estimates ranging from £5,000 to £2 million.
• Analysing the content of tender specifications and drawings and use the information identified to build a costs schedule suitable for use as a formal tender bid.
• Coordinating preparation of all supporting documentation required in the tender bid.
• Communicating with clients regarding the tender and to present the final submission to the client.
• Assisting in the pre order negotiation process with the client.
• Value Engineering – to propose alternatives to specifications in order to reduce costs and / or improve quality and efficiency.

Suitable candidates will have the following skills / experience attributes:

• Detailed knowledge and experience of the technical elements of the architectural and structural steel fabrication and installation industry.
• At least 5 years experience of estimating within the above industry.
• Ability to undertake a reasonable level of technical and financial calculations.
• Outstanding verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent IT and numeracy skills.
• Excellent time management.

Salary is dependant upon skills and experience bonus and pension are also on offer. The position is based in Sittingbourne, Kent and there will be a need for regular visits to London and throughout the South East.
