Kent, Surrey and Sussex Community Rehabilitation Company (KSS CRC) deliver a range of rehabilitation services to people who have been sentenced by a court to either custody or community supervision and who are classed as low to medium risk. We are here to reduce re-offending and help keep safe the communities in which we operate. We believe a person can stop re-offending if they accept responsibility for their actions and the support we offer to make change happen.
The role of case support worker involves working with staff and service users to improve service user engagement and outcomes. This role was created through the work done with our service user council to provide emotional and practical support to our service users, by doing this you can help make a positive difference to our service users lives.
We are looking for motivational, organised, and reliable individuals with good communication skills to bring their experiences and insight into the work we do.
We are delighted to invite applications from Current and Ex Service Users only for this post. No formal qualifications are required to become one of our Case Support Workers, just an open mind and a commitment to working with service users to improve engagement. Formal training and supervision will be provided.
Key duties and responsibilities:
Supporting service users by accompanying them to appointments with other agencies and to assist in completing forms and other paperwork.
To encourage and assist service users to engage with community activities such as gyms, libraries and other hobbies.
To listen to service users’ concerns.
Explore reasons for non-attendance and encourage service users to be motivated to attend appointments with the CRC.
Be aware of issues of risk and inform appropriate team members of any relevant information.
Exploring community, events, training opportunities and resources.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in:
•Maintaining accurate records, in accordance with data protection
•Liaising with co-workers
•Sharing best practise
•Representing the employer at meetings
Skills and Experience:
Experienced in communicating effectively and engaging well with individuals
Able to develop and use community resources to the benefit of the service users
Experience of collaborating with external partners
Organisational and prioritising skills with the ability to multi task and meet deadlines under pressure
Ability to exercise authority and reinforce boundaries in an appropriate manner
Ability to motivate others
The Ideal candidate will be competent in:
•Using IT for emails, databases etc…
•Responding positively to a high work load
•Manage small amounts of cash
