Shepherd Neame have an exciting opportunity for a General Manager to join our team and take on the successful running of Ye Olde Beverlie in Canterbury.
Part of the Shepherd Neame group of over sixty managed houses in the London and the South East; Ye Olde Beverlie is a well-established Country Pub & Restaurant in rural St Stephens Green, Canterbury. Operating at an approximate 50/50 wet to dry split, we offer a great combination of traditional British dishes with a modern twist, together with a superb Tex Mex menu that has a great reputation and following locally.
Due to the business size and support available, this role has the potential to suit either an experienced Manager or potentially a proven and enthusiastic Deputy Manager that is looking to take their first step as a GM. Either way, personality and enthusiasm are key in this role and you must love what you do!
Exceptional customer service and service delivery standards must be at the top of your agenda and you will have the ability to train and develop people in order to get the best out of your team of 15 staff.
Please note that position will be available to start in the first week of October 2017, and if required live in accommodation is available with this role.
What are we looking for?
• Experience at either General or Deputy Management level within the pub, hotel, F&B or hospitality sector.
• Proven experience in a busy food & beverage operation.
• The ability to build a strong partnership with your Head Chef & kitchen team.
• First class customer service, quality and service delivery standards.
• Leadership skills in order to recruit, train, motivate and develop your team.
• You must be commercially astute, able to assume responsibility for the site management reporting and profit and loss budgeting.
• The ability to engage the local community and drive sales & marketing from site.
• Ideally you will be an existing personal licence holder.
