We are on the lookout for a contracts manager with steelwork and architectural metalwork experience which I have attached a job specification for each position. We do appreciate we are searching in a very niche market and we are only interested in seeing candidates who currently live in the Kent area.

Our Client has steadily grown becoming an established metal fabrication company operating in the general construction industry and specialising in the rail (overground and underground) sector.
Their product range includes structural steelwork, architectural metalwork (Including feature staircases and balustrading), general steelwork refurbishment and repair works to structures.
All works are bespoke, and to meet client requirements, we pride ourselves on a high level of project management, including close collaboration from the initial design phase, to develop design intents into workable solutions.
Due to an increasing order book, we are seeking pro-active individuals with suitable experience in the steel industry to join our project teams based at our Sittingbourne, Kent works.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Co-ordinate the design, production and installation of large design and build steel work projects.
• Ability to run a number of projects at the same time.
• Fully understand the project requirements, scope of works, specifications etc.
• To develop and maintain proactive, positive and professional relationships with the client’s representatives.
• Ability to produce project programmes.
• To work with the management team to continually monitor contract performance against programme and budget and to take all necessary action to ensure all targets are met.
• Ability to manage a team of site managers, oversee sub-contractors and arrange labour resources.
• Ensure that group health & safety and quality assurance standards are met and maintained during all operations under your control.
• Writing and checking methods statements and risk assessments.
• Researching, ordering and checking materials.

Candidates Requirements:
• Excellent knowledge and ability to read drawings, connect details and specifications
• At least 5 years experience of running steelwork contracts
• Network Rail and London Underground contract management experience would be very beneficial
• Outstanding communication and organisational skills
• Positive attitude to problems and dealing with staff of all levels
• Good knowledge of health & safety legislation
• Working knowledge of and experience of contract terms and conditions
• Computer literate and conversant with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word & Project
• Full driving licence

Salary:
Negotiable depending upon experience. The position is based in Sittingbourne, Kent and there will be a need for regular visits to London and throughout the South East
