The Cottage Hospice is the first of its kind in the UK and with our University Research Partners from the International Observatory in End of Life Care, we are intent on making sure of its success. Where we lead others will follow. This critically important post requires a strong and professional leader to demonstrate excellent communication and networking skills. The purpose-built Cottage Hospice is expected to open its doors in December 2018 to patients in their last weeks of life and those family caregivers who accompany them. The notion of family caregivers is central to our plans. The Head of Cottage Hospice will need to fully understand and deliver both the philosophy and practice of this dynamic approach, working closely with the programme lead and the Care Director.

Our working hours are full time 37.5 hours per week but part time will be considered for this post.

As well as working in a rewarding environment our benefits package includes: a generous pension scheme with the ability to transfer your NHS pension, training opportunities, a subsidised restaurant, child care vouchers, free parking, holiday trading, and a cycle to work scheme.

Hospice in the Weald (HITW) is an “outstanding” hospice based in a rural setting in Pembury, near Tunbridge Wells in Kent, just 30 miles south of London. The Hospice has a 17 bed In-Patient Unit, a Day Therapy Centre and a Hospice in The Home Service and strives to ensure that the community we serve has access to compassionate, individualised, holistic and supportive care for all patients with a terminal illness, their families and carers.

Please apply via our website www.hospiceintheweald.org.uk and contact us if you would like to arrange an informal visit before applying.
