The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for a broad range of systems, security administration, and operations in a Microsoft Windows physical and virtual environment.
As the IT Systems Administrator, you will provide 2nd and 3rd line support across the various leading edge technologies within their enterprise environment. Other duties include monitoring of security and performance of systems, systems disaster recovery and end-user support.

Role Responsibilities
Installation, configuration and on-going management of systems, workstations and Windows-based server network, with a combination of physical and VMware based virtual servers
Ensures server performance and maintains applications on servers
Problem solving and documentation of current and new servers in both physical and virtual environments
Performs and oversees continuous system health checks, application of patches and upgrades
Perform system monitoring, verifying the availability and integrity of all servers, systems and key processes
Provides business continuity through thorough back-up and restore procedures
Installs, configures and troubleshoots group policy and administrative templates
Installs, configures, troubleshoots and maintains server-based applications running on the network including MS Exchange, MSSQL, MS IIS and Active Directory Services 2008 and 2012, VMWare
Coordinates and works with outside vendors to resolve problems and issues with hardware and software
Assists in planning and deployment of new systems and solutions
Third line support for desktop resolution issues
Ensures compliance to security standards, policies and guidelines

Personal Qualities & Key Skills
A Graduate calibre and/or a minimum of three years specialised experience in a networked technology environment
Skilled in Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and 2012, Microsoft SQL Server 2014 in a clustered environment, Microsoft Exchange 2010, Microsoft IIS, VMWare
Demonstrated knowledge with TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP protocols
Demonstrated knowledge with Windows and Linux Servers (desirable)
Demonstrated knowledge with both physical and virtualized servers, specifically VMWare / ESX;
Skilled in Server hardware troubleshooting and configuration
Demonstrated competencies with Networked Attached Storage, such as QNAP and HP SAN / MSA
Experience and knowledge of Cisco and Meraki network devices, firewalls, routers (desirable)
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Demonstrated competencies with Windows 7 and Windows 10 PCs and associated software
Commitment to continual development of technical skill sets and knowledge sharing
Must be customer service oriented
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Ability to work out-of-hours on a rota basis

Hours: 40 hours per week -Monday to Friday
