Location: Hadlow College

We seek a self-motivated individual to join our Learning Resource Centre (LRC) team. The successful applicant will contribute to the effective day to day operation of a busy user focused LRC in which students and staff are guided to make the best use of the full range of our information resources, both hard copy and electronic, and of the wider support available.

The postholder will participate in all LRC Advisor activities, which include the issuing, receiving and re-shelving of loan resources and administrative functions that support the smooth running of the service. This role will have a particular focus on engaging learners with reading for pleasure and LRC support for college enrichment themes, in particular those related to life in modern Britain. You will work closely with other LRC Advisors and LRC colleagues to ensure that students have a positive experience of using the LRC.

Applicants must demonstrate an enthusiasm for working closely with young people and an interest in supporting students in an LRC setting. They must be IT literate with a good knowledge of MS Office packages and possess strong internet research skills.
The working pattern will include ‘shift’ duties during term time e.g. one late evening per week and some Saturdays. Timings will be agreed in consultation with the LRC Co-ordinator.

Benefits offered by the College include a contributory pension scheme, health cash plan, salary sacrifice scheme and free car parking, this post also attracts five weeks holiday each year, pro rata (excluding bank holidays).

The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check and provide proof of their right to work in the UK.
