PHP Senior Software Developer

Our client currently has a vacancy for a Senior Software Developer join their UK Development team and contribute to their industry leading platforms. You will work closely with other Developers, Software Testers and Product Managers to drive their platforms forward, exploring new technologies and approaches to existing challenges. Your main task will be the rapid development of commercial software to their leading product range.
Candidates must be ambitious and have a long standing and proven commercial experience as a PHP Web Developer. You need to be confident in providing advice and support to internal teams and associated third parties including effective communication to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide expertise in architectural decisions and technical strategies
• Key point of contact for the Software for which you are responsible
• Contribute to ongoing process improvement
• Create appropriate technical documentation and configuration management records
• Ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of all IT business information
• Assume proactive involvement in personal and technical development
• Assist Lead Developers
• Mentor others, sharing your experience and providing support & guidance
• Peer Review work of other team members to ensure functionality is as expected
• Communicate effectively with peer Developers, Software Testers, Business Analysts/Product Architects & Product Managers including remote teams.
Technical Skills
• Current working experience of Object Oriented PHP (>=5.4)
• Javascript / Node knowledge (not limited to JQuery, Angular, Angular 2)
• Version control (GIT /SVN)
• Proven experience of PHP framework principles
• Awareness of Continuous Integration / Unit Testing / BDD / TDD
• Experience in the creation of Technical Documentation
• Experience with MySQL, Postgres or NoSQL
• Familiar with API principles (SOAP, REST, HATEOAS)
• Experience with Atlassian JIRA and Confluence products (advantageous)
• Knowledge or experience of Angular2 (advantageous)
• Knowledge of AWS Infrastructure (advantageous)
