Warehouse Supervisor

Based: Teynham, Kent

Remuneration: Competitive - please advise expectation on application, 28 days holiday including bank holidays pro-rata for shift pattern, Pension, Free Car Parking

Hours of Work: 07.00 - 19.00 on a rolling 4 days on 4 days off shift pattern with a degree of flexibility required in order to meet the demands of the business.

Job purpose:

To lead the Warehouse operation, on a shift basis, ensuring that a quality focused effective and efficient operation is delivered against daily and weekly targets and plans, and that all objectives necessary for the day to day success of the warehouse and picking operation is successfully implemented in accordance with customer and company service levels.

To supervise the Warehouse Operatives ensuring that quality and health & safety standards are achieved and maintained at all times and ensure that they are trained in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, Health & Safety Procedures and Product Specifications.

Main responsibilities:

The role-holder will be required to be responsible for and undertake the following tasks:

• To manage the warehouse and pick operation against the Delivery Plan ensuring that products have been accurately picked and transferred to the relevant storage or loading areas as appropriate.
• To manage the Warehouse Operatives to achieve daily output, picking efficiency and quality requirements for each delivery, ensuring that delivery schedules are achieved at all times.
• To monitor pick rates against targets and pro-actively look for ways to make the business more efficient, to minimise warehouse errors and maximise employee productivity.
• To support the Warehouse Manager in overseeing the Operation ensuring that all operational matters are owned and resolved efficiently and in line with all legal requirements
• Minimising warehouse errors by conducting pick location checks and carrying out random pick pallet checks
• To engage and coordinate in preventive maintenance schedules and site/warehouse improvements.
• To coach, develop and train Warehouse Operatives in picking activities and formulate and implement personal development and training plans for the Warehouse Operation.
• Schedule day to day picking operations to achieve the operational KPI’s and devise and assist in the delivery of a Continuous Improvement Plan for the Warehouse Operation.
• To work alongside the other Supervisors to ensure communication, best practice and efficiency is continually reviewed and improved.
• To ensure that the highest standards of safety, hygiene and housekeeping, is maintained and that the required levels of training is achieved and that Company standards and procedures are followed at all times.
• To support the ISS Management Team on all BRC requirements for the site and ensure the Operation adheres to the demands of this.
• Support the Warehouse Manager in the forward planning of labour and agency workers, as required.
• Ensure that all people issues are dealt with efficiently and effectively in line with Company Policy.

Minimum requirements:

Supervisory experience in a busy warehouse environment
Experience of reviewing, updating and implementing processes
Good numeracy and literacy skills
Excellent communication skills

Desirable requirements:

Reach truck licence
RTITB or ITSSAR instructor qualification
