Connect are currently recruiting for a highly experienced Machine Operator with Forklift. This role is a shift based position working 60 hours (one week) and then 24 (the next) on a rolling week. You will therefore work a base average of 42 hours per week.

Our client are a multi-national, multi-million pound business with UK wide sites and the (local to Sittingbourne) site is one of the most successful turning over north of £5M per month.

The role is working in one of their plants and is a physically demanding role. You will be operating machinery (after ongoing training and support) and using a Forklift to store / pack the product.

The product is heavy and construction related and also valuable so we are critical on recruiting a careful and experienced Forklift driver. They primarily supply residential (retail sites) but also work with government and highways.

This role will only be suited to someone with a great level of aptitude. You must be a team player and thorough in your work and also hard working.

The shifts are Days and Nights but the 24 hour working week is a welcome break after the previous 60 hour week.

This is based on an ongoing temporary contract to start and pays £10.14/hour (by us) to start. Overtime will apply above the 42 hours but a standard weeks’ pay is £425.88. There is an opportunity for this to go permanent after 12 weeks where the starting salary is £30,000 plus full company benefits after probation.
