The Dover Western Docks Revival Project, the single biggest investment undertaken by the Port, will create a purpose-built cargo and logistics facility at the Port, which currently handles up to £119 billion of UK trade each year.

Job Summary

To provide a professional and responsive recruitment and selection process to ensure the organisation attracts and recruits the best suitable applicants for identified vacancies.

Together with the General Manager, Corporate Administration and the Human Resources Manager, the Recruitment Advisor will continuously review recruitment needs throughout the business and review succession plans to ensure the right people with the rights skills are in place at the right time.

The Recruitment Advisor will:

• Work with managers to draft accurate, well written job descriptions
• Draw up engaging adverts to attract the right level and quality of applicants
• Liaise with external providers to place advertisements and negotiate prices
• Manage and liaise with recruitment agencies, negotiating the best placement fees
• Utilise social media such as LinkedIn and Twitter and follow a proactive talent search approach
• Manage candidates through the whole recruitment process from taking initial enquiries, reviewing and pre-screening candidates to administering the interview process, attending interviews and co-ordinating job offers and feedback
• Support the HR Administrator to ensure reference checking process is completed
• Represent the organisation by attendance at local Jobs and Careers Fairs

Skills and Qualifications

• GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English, minimum Grade C or demonstrable competency
• Experience of recruitment of a variety of technical / professional staff
• One to two years of corporate recruitment experience
• Proven candidate sourcing and relationship building skills
• Skills in database management and record keeping
• General knowledge of employment laws and practices
• Professional membership of CIPD or other relevant institution desirable
