Amphenol Ltd is a manufacturing site that forms part of the Amphenol Corporation, a global interconnect specialist generating in excess of $5.5 billion yearly revenue. Our team in Whitstable, consists of around 230 people and offers a full design and manufacturing service for a large range of military and industrial connectors and interconnect solutions, including cable assembly, over-moulding and electronic packaging.
Key Responsibilities include:
•Setting and operating CNC multi-tasking lathes
•Inspecting work produced using measuring equipment to Engineering drawings and reporting any quality defects to supervision
•Daily, weekly and monthly maintenance checks on machines, including maintaining good housekeeping standards and reporting any issues promptly to supervision
•Optimising efficiencies through reduced set-up and cycle times, plus tool life monitoring
•Deburring, cleaning, final inspection and completion of all traceability documentation
Essential Qualities Include:
•Practical, hands on experience setting and operating CNC lathes, within a minimum of 3 axis
•Experience within a low batch component manufacturing industry
•Previous experience in cycle time reduction, tool management and optimisation
•Ability to read and understand technical drawings
•Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently and with minimal supervision
•Ability to work to tight deadlines
•Good housekeeping
