Field Based Motor Engineer

Barker Munro Recruitment is working with a well-known highly successful motor organisation that is based in Kent. They are looking to add an experienced field based Motor Engineer to their team to cover postcodes around North West London and Hertfordshire.

The responsibilities of the role are to ensure that Insured vehicles, which are subject to a motor claim, are either correctly categorised as a total loss or repaired to their pre-accident condition by using the most appropriate repair method and to control the cost of motor claims within the business objectives by agreeing fair costs with customers & repairers. You will be required to provide a fast, fair & efficient service on authorising motor repairs or reaching settlement with customers when settling claims as a total loss and will also be able to identify fraudulent activity through investigative practice and liaison with claims colleagues.

In order to be considered for the position of Field Based Motor Engineer you will need to have experience gained working as a Motor Engineer either for Insurance Company or a private accident repair company and will have expert knowledge of the Motor Body Repair Industry. You will need to have strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills and will be able to make quick decisions with the customers best interests always in mind. You will ideally be VDA/ATA Accredited, a member of the Engineering Institutes and thorough knowledge of Computerised Estimation Systems(Audatex and Glassmatix) will be an advantage.
