The Diocese is currently looking for an experienced Communications Adviser to join the team on a 6 month contract. The Strategy and Implementation team are developing a new strategic framework for the diocese to guide and focus activity and resources over the next 5 years. The Communications Consultant will help to guide the strategic and practical communication of this strategy during its launch to successfully embed it within the wider diocese.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience of supporting projects in complex, multi-stakeholder environments preferably within a not-for-profit or faith based environment. They will have a relevant professional qualification such as the CIPR Advanced Certificate or equivalent gained through experience. Candidates must have excellent written and verbal communication skills particularly in facilitation and stakeholder engagement with extensive experience with web-based and social media communications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Work with the Strategic Framework Manager, Bishop, the Strategic Steering Group and a small number of key internal stakeholders to define and agree the approach to communicate the Strategic Framework.
• Promote best practice in communication tools, approach and networking and source and share good news stories to encourage and inspire engagement with the Strategy.
• Advise and support diocesan staff on PR and Communications in relation to significant strategic issues ensuring the Strategic Framework reaches and inspires people across the Diocese and partners.
