Title: Assistant to Transport Manager/yard
Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 p/a depending on experience.
Monday to Friday 8am til 6pm and alternate Saturdays when required.
Applicant must have HGV class 1 CPC.
To assist with the traffic planning on a day to day basis, searching for back loads to and from Europe collating driver paperwork.
Liaising with customers/suppliers. Giving instruction to mobile operatives and scrutinising drivers’ hours etc and managing fuel efficiency.
Other duties to include local deliveries, shunting to and from Docks and yard work.
Forklift experience and good mechanical knowledge would be an advantage.
After training and once proficient you will cover the traffic desk whilst your Manager is on leave.
Potential scope for expansion in this role within the company.
