Role Purpose Statement
To pick and deliver customers orders ensuring the department`s objectives are achieved and continuously improve performance against set targets. To provide cover for planned and unplanned absence within a team of drivers. Assist with training and assessing drivers.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Ensure that all customers orders are picked accurately and delivered professionally
Ensure all products are delivered in a saleable quality
Maintain and enhance effective working relationships with customers and colleagues
Deal with customer queries wherever possible or report back to maximise customer satisfaction
Ensure invoices are signed and adjustments made as required
Collect monies (cash & cheques) against invoices
Maintain and monitor control of product temperatures ensuring all checks are carried out and recorded in accordance with company policy
Carry out vehicle checks to ensure vehicle roadworthiness
Ensure that vehicle is clean at all times
Compliance with Health & Safety and Hygiene legislation
Compliance with current vehicle & tachograph legislation
Maintain smart and presentable uniform standards
Attend monthly briefings and raise awareness of potential customer service issues
Provide cover for driver holidays & absence
Comprehensive knowledge of rounds
Assist with training and assessing drivers
Performance Indicators
Number of returns
Fuel consumption
Temperature control records
Tachograph records
Time taken to complete task
Route knowledge
Number of accidents/damage
Attendance
Time keeping
Quality of paperwork presented at debrief
Competencies
Meets and exceeds customer expectations in service and product quality
Flexible and adaptable to meet customer service requirements
Coaching skills
Verbally communicates in a polite and clear fashion, relays messages to team
Uses knowledge to solve basic problems, makes routine decisions
Takes responsibility for quality of own work
Is reliable and co-operative demonstrating understanding of team work/interdependency
Organises and prioritises to bring tasks to timely completion
Completes and presents paperwork in orderly fashion
Able to overcome setbacks with resolve and determination
Knowledge, Skills, Experience
Customer Centric
Adapt to Change
Relevant Licence holder, experience preferred
Preferably to GCSE or equivalent
Able to demonstrate basic numeracy and literacy
Excellent Physical Fitness
Knowledge of EC drivers hours and tachograph legislation
Knowledge of vehicle defect procedures and maintenance requirements
Communication Skills
