Our client is a leading provider of food logistics in Europe. Their extensive network of locations and partners, exceptionally committed and well trained employees and pioneering technology sets them apart from other food logistic companies. They are now looking for a Transport Planner to join them on a permanent basis.


About the Transport Planner

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the sourcing of third party subcontractors in Europe, including Freight negotiations. You will take charge of the planning of vehicles, taking load factors, customer opening hours, driving hours and all other legal requirements into consideration.

You will ensure that daily collections and deliveries are carried out as per your instructions and use our own initiative to make decisions relevant to your area.

In addition, you will take on administrative tasks when required and ensure the timely and effective communication between office, customers, subcontractors and drivers.

Extensive job training will be provided to the successful applicant.


Requirements

* Experienced, self-motivated International Planner
* A strong understanding of all aspects of fleet and driver management and scheduling / planning
* Due to the nature of the role, a minimum of 3 years' experience in the haulage/freight forwarding industry is required
* Keen attention to detail with the ability to work within a pressured environment
* Possess strong analytical, communication and organisation skills
* The ability to communicate in another European language is desirable but not essential
