Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities:

To ensure that all gardening issues are dealt with in a timely manner. Assisting the maintenance manager to ensure all issues are fixed and all guest issues are corrected promptly.




 Grass cutting, weeding, leaf collection, guttering, flower beds using gardening machinery- mower, trimmer, leaf blower, ladder jobs, repairing of exterior furniture & assisting with maintenance work.
 Ensure that information relating to gardening works is communicated as appropriate with other departments within the hotel.
 Ensure that all tools and equipment are returned to the workshops / storage areas at the end of each shift or once works completed and to maintain all gardening, maintenance storage and work areas in a clean and tidy state.
 Inform the Maintenance Manager of any spare parts normally held in stock for day to day operations so that items may be reordered in time to receive replacements before stocks are exhausted and so that par stock levels are maintained.
 Bring to the attention of the Maintenance Manager any materials or equipment not held in stock or out of stock that are required in order to complete works, so that they may be ordered as appropriate.
 Adopt a proactive approach by carrying out a regular walk round the hotel and grounds to ensure potential problems are dealt with promptly.
 Have an understanding of all plant and equipment in the hotel and maintain these in efficient working order by assisting in following routine maintenance procedures.

Person Specification

Experience and Skills:

 Previous experience in a similar role
 A good team player but also able to work on your own when required.
 Knowledge of safety requirements.
 Good communication skills.
 Confident in solving problems.
