Job Summary:
To provide strategic direction on the organisations grant making and social lending activities with a focus on monitoring and measuring the impact of funding small grass roots organisations in Kent and Medway. To manage the day-to-day operations of the grant making and social lending functions.

Specific Responsibilities:
As Director of Grants and Impact you will ensure:

KCF is well-networked among local charities, community groups, voluntary organisations and social enterprises ie. the sector is aware of KCF’s funding programmes and KCF has a good understanding of the sector.
KCF is expert on social issues affecting the local community in Kent and the role of community action in addressing community need and creating opportunities.
All KCF funds have a sufficient pipeline of applications and project proposals and these are presented to fund-holders/panels in a compelling and engaging way that meets/exceeds their requirements and expectations.
There are robust systems in place to carry out the due diligence/assessment of applications, in a timely manner, to include financials, social impact and fit with KCF funds and to monitor and evaluate the impact of KCF grants/loans.
All donors, fund-holders and grant panels receive an excellent level of service and active client relationship management to meet their philanthropic goals.

Directly responsible for:
The development and implementation of a new grant and social lending strategy for the organisation including the implementation of a robust impact reporting model.
Line-management of the Grants Assessment and Fund Management team including briefing individuals, delegating actions, on-going supervision, training etc.
Close management of Fund Activities on our database to ensure each Fund has an identifiable plan of action, appropriate to expectations of fund, and that this is being implemented with deadlines/targets being met in a timely manner.
Delivering current strategic funding partnerships and to pro-actively seek new opportunities to collaborate with other grant makers across Kent.
Contributing to the wider KCF strategy and leadership e.g.. development of business plan, attend Board meetings where necessary, Away Days, supporting fund development etc.
Engaging with stakeholders and influencers within KCF’s priority areas.
Managing Kent Big Society Fund and KCF’s wider social investment strategy, including promoting repayable finance locally, supporting individual ventures pre- and post-finance, managing relationship with KCC, assisting with funding strategy, liaising with referral agencies and other social Investment partners.

Directly manage individual funds as appropriate.
Other duties as assigned by CE as appropriate.
