Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor (Temporary)
Based in Ramsgate, Kent
£30 per hour

Our Client, a global manufacturer located in Ramsgate, is currently looking to recruit a Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor to work on a temporary basis, initially for a minimum of 3 months.

The successful candidate will provide health, safety and environmental advice to the construction of a civil contractor run project, assisting the HSE Manager with a number of different supporting tasks including presentations and process improvement/management.

Applicants will ideally have relevant prior work experience, including team leadership skills, experience of project management on similar projects and construction health and safety experience.

The successful candidate will be required to travel across the UK.

This is a full time role paying an hourly rate of up to £30 per hour, dependent on experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:

* Ensure site compliance to CDM Regulations 2015 and other HSE legal requirements to which the site activities subscribe.
* Supervise, review and monitors the construction phase of a project and the efforts to control risk and ensure continual improvement beyond compliance; leads internal HSE audits; resolves complex issues identified in audits; updates construction plan documentation and communicates revised processes to all stakeholders.
* Lead multiple projects from inception to completion and tracks performance against performance goals and timeline. Identify, track and work with others to resolve project issues. Monitor and communicate project status to project team.
* Plan and monitor project budget, conduct research and analysis; provide input into the design and development of project plans and timelines.
* Manage project risk; use quality tools to identify areas of risk; work with others on the team and outside the team to identify alternatives or solutions.
* Document and share team learnings with other teams; draw on other project team experiences to enhance the success of the project.
* Maintain project notes, databases, and other records; monitor measures and communicate with Project Sponsor and other stakeholders on status of specific projects and assignments.
* Identify and assign appropriate resources to accomplish various project tasks.

Person specification:

* Ideally hold college, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering or a related technical or scientific field.
* Ideally hold NEBOSH Construction Certificate and NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 6 Occupational Health and Safety.
* Relevant prior work experience, including team leadership skills, experience of project management on similar projects and construction health and safety experience.
