We are currently looking for a Seasonal Dock Master. This position is to start as soon as possible and will be until the end of September.
This post involves shift work between the hours of 06:00 - 22:00 hrs, including Bank and Public Holidays (sample shift roster to follow)
To allocate suitable berths to visiting vessels and to assist with mooring.
To collect harbour dues as set out in accordance with the published fees and charges.
To undertake general marina and harbour maintenance.
To operate the fuel barge and to fully comply with the operating and emergency procedures and to ensure the highest level of safety is maintained at all times.
To ensure a high standard of customer care is adopted at all times by the post holder and any contractors working in his/hers area whilst he/she is on duty.
To maintain records and accounts for vessel berthing and fuel sales.
To ensure that any incidents or accidents are recorded and reported as early as possible to the post holders line manager.
To undertake regular jet washing of the pontoon walkways and fingers.
To be fully aware of and comply with the environmental management systems. To identify potential risks to the environment and to seek out areas where environmental impact can be reduced.
To assist both port and harbour colleagues as necessary.
To attend relevant training.
To undertake other duties that may be required from time to time that may be reasonably requested by the duty Dockmaster.
Desirable but not essential
RYA Powerboat level 2.
First aid certification.
Basic Sea Survival.
VHF Radio Telephony certification.
RYA Yacht Master/Day Skipper.
Oil Spill Operator course.
Fire Awareness course.
Driving Licence.
