We are looking for Web Designer/Developer who will be responsible for building, testing, designing & maintaining WordPress based websites. Working within the IT team the successful candidate will be a creative individual who is passionate about technology and will have the following characteristics:
*Great interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communication skills
*Adaptable and able to pick up new technologies quickly.
*Excellent problem-solving skills.
*Ability to work alone or as part of a team on multiple projects.
*Complete work in realistic and timely manner, with ability to prioritise own workload.
*Possess a flexible, "can do" attitude.
*Keen eye/flare for design as a large proportion of this role will be updating/refreshing our forward facing websites.

Essential

*Working with HTML 5.0, CSS 3.0, JavaScript.
*Working with the WordPress Content Management System.
*Good appreciation of design, usability and interactivity is essential as well as experience of developing for multi-devices with responsive development principles.
*Experience of incorporating data from various sources using API's based on REST and SOAP technologies.
*Experience of writing PHP 5 code from scratch.

Desirable

The following experience is not essential but would be a distinct advantage:
*Familiar with source code control using Git (GitHub/Bitbucket).
*Ability to write complex SQL queries, ideally for MySQL.
*Web application development experience.
*Basic Linux/Apache/MySQL administration.
*Exposure to Cloud environments and Content Delivery Networks.
*Exposure to maintaining code written in Java.
*Exposure to Frameworks such as Codeigniter & Symfony.

Working hours: Mon, Weds, Fri 8am - 4pm and Tues & Thurs 10am - 6pm initially, then changing to Mon, Weds, Fri 10am - 6pm and Tues & Thurs 8am - 4pm upon completion of training / induction
