Application Developer - Application Support - Maidstone - SQL Development - SSRS - up to £40,000

Your new role

As the in house Application Support, you will;


* Lead as a technical subject matter expert to support the organisation in the development and maintenance of business critical applications.
* Plan and manage the delivery of projects associated with applications, working within the timescales required and escalating issues to appropriate managers. Taking a lead role on selected projects
* Lead the development of reporting and workflow solutions based on a range of business applications.
* Develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge on the use of applications, development of systems and ICT best practice within a housing sector environment and a wider context in order to recommend new technology and implement developing best practice.
* Lead the day-to-day management and maintenance of application systems.
* Liaise actively with third-party suppliers as required, monitoring and challenging the service provided to ensure delivery of value for money and performance to agreed service levels.
* Provide 2nd & 3rd line support service on key applications and modules.
* Develop and maintain current application solutions to support Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery requirements in liaison with colleagues in the infrastructure and application services team.
* You will provide advice and training to colleagues in the ICT team to ensure their provision of an effective support service to users.
* Responsible for maintaining procedures and documentation, including training notes on solutions developed.
* Contribute to Continuous Service Improvement (CSI), developing enhancements and progressing service improvements.


What you'll need to succeed


* 2nd / 3rd line experience in administrating Windows SQL Server 2008/2012
* Strong experience in SQL query building
* Strong experience in using Microsoft SSRS reporting Services
* Lead business analysis of key business processes
* Lead project management in application deployment
* 2nd / 3rd line support experience of core business applications
* Good working knowledge of Java and ASP.Net
* 2nd line working knowledge of Windows operating systems and server environment
* Good working knowledge of Application Programming Interface (API) development
* Strong knowledge of MS SQL Server 2008/2012
* Project management methodology (Agile, PRINCE2,RAD)
* Strong programming language knowledge in SQL
* MS SQL Server 2008/2012 administration
* Development tools .NET, ASP,SQL
* Scripting in VBA
