Initially starting in the role of Administrator the successful candidate will have a defined progression path - based on course results and job performance. On successful completion of the two year training program to gain Level 4 Diploma in Business Administration, and achievement of work based objectives, the candidate would be promoted to Business Support Coordinator. The role involves providing general administrative support across the business, reporting to the General Manager but working for all the managers with a variety of tasks covering marketing, finance, sales, HR and general administration.

The individual will be sponsored by the Company, under the government’s apprenticeship scheme, to train to Level 4 Diploma in Business Administration. The apprenticeship will involve a structured course of study, based around the workplace and gradually learning the job itself in a hands-on way through workplace training, home study and perhaps day or block release workshops over a period of two years, as defined by the training organisation.

Over the course of the apprenticeship, the person will be supported as much as necessary by our experienced Managers and Directors and coached into the role, taking on the individual tasks in a phased way as competencies improve.

The Job

Your apprenticeship will start with a structured in-house induction course – together with the sales team - designed to introduce you to the company, the basic sales skills and the holidays we provide. You will be trained in product knowledge covering all aspects of the holiday and will also be fully trained in the use of our bespoke reservation system and other sales support applications you will use in the course of your job. After the intensive induction, you will work initially under close supervision for the first few weeks to begin to deal with enquiries (as part of the sales team) and this will be followed by an educational trip to the resort.

After the induction course, you will take on the varied tasks of the administrator role which will develop to include day-to-day accounts, personnel and HR administration, production of documents and presentations, working with graphics, market research, management of facilities and office services – in fact, you will become the “glue” which holds the management team together, providing support services to all the departments across the business by the time you achieve your qualification.

The Candidate

The successful candidates will be based at the Company’s Head Office in Maidstone, Kent but must be prepared to travel as necessary for the proper fulfilment of the role, including attending all training events in proper completion of the course and spending periods abroad in resort as necessary.

We are expecting this role to be attractive to a post “A” level school or college leaver who satisfies the skills and qualifications requirements below – however, applications are equally open to older or experienced candidates who are looking for a change of career and the opportunity to train for formal qualifications alongside a job. All applicants must satisfy the requirements of the government apprenticeship scheme.

Skills and Qualifications Required

• You must have achieved at least 5 GCSE subjects grades A-C (4 to 9) including Maths and English at Grade 5 or above
• Organised and flexible person – committed to providing an excellent support service to the business and the management team.
• Strong numeric skills – logical thinker – high levels of accuracy and attention to details
• Success and goal driven person – energetic and focussed
• Commitment to personal development to become an integral part of the management team at the end of the apprenticeship
• Excellent PC literacy – the candidate will work towards high level skills in Word and PowerPoint and a good starting level would be beneficial
• French language skills would be an advantage

The Benefits

• Starting basic salary £10,000 with guaranteed increases after each phase of study
• Commission and incentive scheme for personal and team sales results and a profit related bonus scheme after qualification
• 40 hours per week during the apprenticeship
• 28 days paid holiday per annum, including the UK public holidays
• Formal training to work towards the Level 4 NVQ Business Administration – one day per week of your working time will be allowed for study and you will also need to invest some of your own time to achieve your study goals
• All training costs will be paid by the Government or by the Company – there are no costs to the candidate
• Annual ski holiday and educational trip to the Alps at the end of the ski season and an educational trip as part of your induction training
