Dual Skilled Engineering Apprentice

We are looking for a new apprentice, to undertake the ongoing maintenance and improvement of all fixed plant and facilities on the BLBP site; assist in the preventative maintenance to ensure maximum availability, performance and quality. Work in a safe manor and ensure all plant is kept in a safe working condition.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- To maintain the plant so as to produce product at world class levels of performance, quality and cost
- To maintain the plant through breakdown repair and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives on site to help improve the OEE of the plants.
- Work in a manner that ensures a safe working area for yourself and your colleagues and is maintained to help reduce accidents to zero. To participate in the continuous improvement of SHE performance with the work area and at the site.
- Have a conscientious work ethic in respect of timekeeping and attendance and be able to work to agreed standards of productivity, quality and cost without supervision.
- Highlight own training needs and strive to become multi skilled in all areas of the sites various plant and machinery safely and flexibly as required.
- Achieve production targets whilst maintaining and improving quality of the products.
- Maximise cost efficiencies by minimising waste and improving quality.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors throughout the site’s manufacturing structure.
- Maintain a clean, tidy and safe work area.
- Development of production and maintenance colleges in respect of fault identification, correction and avoidance by fostering TPM philosophies.


Working Week- Monday-Friday
Total hours per week- 37.50 through training but rising to 48 hours in years 4-5

Qualifications required:
4 GCSE's grade A-C or equivalent including Maths & English.


This Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering Maintenance will consist of the following framework:

Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering Maintenance
Level 2 Functional Skills in English, Maths and IT
BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Operations and Maintenance Engineering
Employment Rights & Responsibilities (ERR)
Personal Learning & Thinking Skills (PLTS)
