Junior / Graduate JavaScript Software Developer

Opportunity to join a newly created agile team, working on a greenfield project built on top of a new and innovative cloud platform. We are looking for a talented JavaScript developer to help deliver a new range of products to market.
Although you’ll need an eye for detail and will be comfortable working with HTML and CSS, we are not looking for a website designer, we need a developer who is passionate about JavaScript and able to utilise good design to implement complex business rules.
There are opportunities for bright candidates to progress quickly within the team as well as possibilities to work with other technologies such as Java and .Net.
Role Responsibilities
Reporting to the technical lead, you will be expected to:
· Interpret complex business specifications.
· Implement requirements using clean and concise code adhering to the team’s coding standards.
· Write unit tests for your code.
· Create cleanly styled professional looking user interfaces.
· Adapt quickly to the team’s development tools, processes and version control.
Technical Skills
Required
Excellent JavaScript knowledge is paramount for this role. We also require experience of the following:
· HTML & CSS
· JSON
· Object Oriented Design
· Version Control
Desirable
The role will involve the following skills, any exposure to these would be an advantage:
· Unit Testing and Test Driven Development
· Agile Methodologies
· JavaScript Design Patterns
· Web Services and Restful APIs
· AJAX and JQuery
· C#
· JIRA and Bitbucket
· Network and Browser debugging tools (i.e. Fiddler & Chrome DevTools)
Future skills and technologies which may be gained within the role.
· Java
· OAUTH2 authorisation framework
· Angular
· Unit Testing frameworks (such as Jasmine and Protractor)
Education and Experience
Must have Computer Science (or similar) degree and ideally 1 year industry experience working with JavaScript, although we will consider applications from fresh graduates who can demonstrate a passion for developing with JavaScript.
