Elms School is a day special school for pupils aged 5 to 16 years with learning, behavioural, social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Many pupils travel from a wide area to attend Elms School. The school will be managing its own transport for these pupils and has a number of positions available:
Drivers to be based in Dover, Shepway, Ashford, Thanet, Herne Bay areas) working 39 weeks per year. Hours range from 7.5 per week to 15 per week depending on the area
KR4 £8.79-£9.24 per hour (Full time equivalent £16,968 - £17,826)
The governors wish to appoint a number of drivers who will be responsible for safely operating the school’s bus routes, collecting pupils from home and delivering them to school for an 8.30am start; collecting them from school at 3pm (Monday to Thursday) and 2pm Friday and dropping them home. The successful candidates must:
• Be at least 21 years of age (for insurance purposes)
• Hold a license (category B) for at least 12 months, the license must not have:
o More than 6 points
o Have any drink/drive endorsements
o Have a ban within the last 5 years
o Have more than two current speeding endorsements
• Have emotional resilience and a good sense of humour.
• Have a minimum of GCSE grade C in English and Maths or equivalent.
In return you will receive a competitive salary, superannuation scheme, childcare vouchers, behaviour management and safeguarding training and five weeks paid holiday per year.
