Our Client based in Kent is seeking an experienced Instrumentation Engineer – 5-shift pattern – continental shifts – holiday accrual is part of the set breaks + up to 3% pension contribution.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
• The role requires experience in a manufacturing environment ideally FMCG
• A positive attitude, which embraces change.
• Qualified to HNC / Engineering Degree and have been a time served apprentice.
• HNC level education is preferable and a working knowledge of Flame Proof areas desirable.
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB - Provide a full engineering service to clients departments, which encompass: - Maintenance – Fault Rectification – Installation / Commission – Engineering Improvements – De-installation.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Prioritises and carries out engineering work as required by the client’s to ensure that the plant / equipment is available to meet the manufacturing standard and achieves the KPI’s in the production area.
• Resolves manufacturing / instrument problems in the plant / services when requested, using engineering fault diagnostic skills to minimise down time and increase plant output.
• Administrates engineering documentation to ensure all data required is captured and retrieved to ensure that plant/equipment history is available for GMP – Key Performance Indicators – Training – Reference Information.
• Uses initiative and innovation to maximise the plant utilisation and problem solving through maintenance schedules. Carries out duties in a professional manner, which incorporates adaptability- reliability and projects a “can do” attitude to clients.
• Communicates to impart adequate information to Supervisors, Operators, Engineers, Management, Clerical and QA Staff. This aids the optimisation of engineering plant and equipment and allows its maintenance when not required for manufacturing or processing.
• Carries out a broad range of instrumentation engineering work incorporating.
o Single Phase, Building management systems (TREND)
o PLC’s (OMRON / ALLEN BRADLEY)
o SELV systems, Fire Alarms and Cable Installation
o Panel building, Flame Proof Installation Work and Conduit / tracking system
o Specialist Laboratory, Potent Drug equipment,
o Pneumatics, Distributed Control Systems
o Calibration of – Temperature, pressure, flow, analytical and weight parameters on a wide range of process and laboratory equipment
o Pneumatics and pneumatic logic control valves actuators.
• Works as an individual and as part of the Engineering Team to carry out effective communication – handovers – training – instruction.
• Programmes control systems in various propriety languages to achieve the required process control solutions for complex processing plant and equipment.
