South East Water supplies drinking water to 2.1 million customers across Kent, Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire. Daily, we supply 565 million litres of drinking water along more than 14,000 kilometres of mains to our customers' taps.





We are seeking a Senior Process Engineer who is able to bring a wealth of experience in technical delivery of water treatment works design and improvement projects to join our busy Engineering Team.



The Senior Process Engineer will ideally be a Chartered Engineer or equal, and will be responsible for the technical deliverables on projects working under direction from the Lead Process Engineer, Project Managers and in accordance with the requirements set down by the Lead Construction Engineer.



Responsibilities & Duties include:



* Development and appraisal of robust, risk assessed process solutions/designs for schemes
* Preparation and checking of process calculations
* Evaluation of whole life cost and TOTEX costings.
* Definition of process performance requirements and guarantees
* Provision of process technical support for commissioning of schemes including troubleshooting
* Advising on appropriate inputs for programmes, estimates and contract preparation
* Ensuring that the quality of deliverables meet SEW and regulatory requirements
* Ensuring that engineering outputs align with the Asset and Operational strategies of the company
* Promote understanding of the business and regulatory needs of process function
* Provision of support to operations staff and operational sites to achieve optimisation of both new and existing process assets
* Technical excellence in process delivery
* Working with key stakeholders across the business, such as Assets, Water Quality, Production and Operations
* Identification and evaluation of innovative processes and equipment
* Liaison at all levels with the Department and with external stakeholders
* Ensuring technical delivery meets project objectives in terms of health & safety, quality and efficiency targets
* Management of junior engineers, providing mentoring as required

Key skills include:



* Excellent communication skills including report writing and oral communication.
* Ability to communicate and work effectively with the wider team, including the construction, commissioning and operational teams
* Excellent team skills
* Sound engineering judgment
* Ability to influence outcomes and staff who are not necessarily part of direct line management
* Use of personal energy to enthuse others
* Able to be relied on to get things done on time
* Able to take the initiative to provide solutions for process related issues and to take control in situations.

Requirements:

* HNC or a Degree in Engineering or equivalent training and at least 5 years relevant UK water industry experience (other water companies/contractors/consultants/suppliers)
* Either Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartership with experience
* or substantial industry experience with a reputation for technical excellence
* Clean UK driving licence
