Critical Project Resourcing is a thriving recruitment business based in the centre of Sevenoaks, Kent. We have a trainee position in our Public Sector team where the skills required to cover this area of the business are different from many other recruitment roles. At Critical Project Resourcing, we like to do things correctly and ethically to build long lasting relationships with clients. If you are looking for a career in recruitment but do not see yourself as a “hard core” sales person then Public Sector recruitment could be for you.

Trainee recruitment consultants need to be excellent at multi-tasking, to manage the numerous vacancies we are filling on behalf of our clients with the ability to move quickly between tasks as different needs arise throughout the day. Organisation and time management are crucial skills for any recruitment consultant looking to pursue a career in Public Sector recruitment. Those who utilise these skills best will see their earnings increase more quickly.

Our Public Sector trainee consultants recruit for temporary and contract staff to work with Local Authorities across the UK. The roles that we cover are varied and range from Housing and Benefits staff to Highways Engineers, ICT professionals, and Town Planners. No two days in this side of the business are ever the same.

Critical Project Resourcing offers a dedicated training programme which allows consultants the opportunity to learn 'on the job’. You will begin recruiting for suitable candidates from day one as we have a multitude of jobs to fill and over time you will gain the skills and knowledge necessary to work independently and to manage your own workload.

Whilst you will quickly learn the basic skills needed to be successful, you will continue to learn throughout your career and over the coming months and years will have the opportunity to progress through an established career path with increasing responsibilities and financial returns. The most successful consultants will also have the opportunity to take on management responsibilities as their career progresses.

Successful trainees typically will have/be;

• Worked during school/college/your degree whilst studying
• Been a member of a club, society or sport team
• Achieved an independent challenge such as travel, work or a personal accomplishment
• Competitive
• Ethical
• Achieved a 2:1 or First Class degree if you attended University
• Experience in undertaking office work or related office type activities in a HR capacity
