Position Expectations
The Engineering Manager’s role will be to efficiently manage the engineering function of the site within the agreed budget and to ensure that quality standards, service level and H&S is maintained at all times. The role will also be responsible for ensuring that engineering services is provided to all functions where necessary and support other departments in order to achieve our business objectives. Working closely with external contractors and the operations team to manage the cycle of planned, predictive and reactive maintenance across the site with the willingness to not only manage the cycle but also be very hands on in their approach.
Key Duties
• Manage the cycle of planned, predictive and reactive maintenance across the site, working closely with Operations, ensuring minimal impact to the operation and drive continuous improvement.
• Prioritise planned, predictive and reactive maintenance scheduling
• Work with 3rd party Engineering contractors on site
• Lead management of incident and problem resolution across Engineering, report on performance and escalate issues
• Measure and report on performance and take action to improve performance
• Ensure Health & Safety practices are adhered to within the site in relation to Engineering (Health & Safety)
Skills required
• A strong Engineering pedigree in, mechanical, electrical and TPM.
• Experience of working within the food sector would be a distinct advantage
• Qualified Engineer in an appropriate Engineering discipline (minimum ONC or equivalent) and relevant experience (desirable; HNC/HND qualification)
• Experience of leading and managing a team but very willing to be hands on
• Tenacious and adaptable leader who can deliver at pace
• Strong planning, organising and prioritisation skills
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Analysis and problem solving, driving for the root cause and permanent corrective action
• Qualified to IEE Wiring Regulations 17th Edition; Health & Safety qualification
