We are now seeking a part time Ledger Assistant to join our busy Finance department. The role will be based at Snodland and will report into the Cash Supervisor. The successful candidate will report into the Financial Operations Manager and be based at our Head Office in Snodland.



The successful candidate is required to work 24 hours per week. The hours will be covered are Monday to Thursday 12.00pm - 5.00pm and Friday 12.30pm - 4.30pm. There may be an opportunity for the successful candidate to increase their hours in the future dependant on the needs within the Finance department.



Main responsibilities include:

* Assist the credit controller in chasing collection of outstanding commercial Sales Ledger debts.
* Resolving customer queries to ensure prompt payment is received.
* Allocating invoices and cash receipts to the Sales Ledger accounts.
* Assisting with the raising of sales invoices and credit notes as appropriate.
* Ensuring that invoices are matched, coded and processed on the Purchase Ledger system.
* Ensuring that appropriate supplier records are maintained on the Purchase Ledger system.
* Ensuring that suppliers are paid on a timely basis.
* Ensuring that supplier statements are reconciled on a regular basis.
* Ensuring that authorised employees expenses are processed on a timely basis.
* Ad hoc duties as and when required.



Expected Requirements:
* Must be educated to GCSE grades A to C standard or equivalent.
* Basic record of proven ability in related work.
* Experience of managing Customer and Supplier relationships.
* Computer literate - basic Word and Excel skills.
* Good communication skills.
* Diligent with good attention to detail.
* Ability to work to deadlines.
