Our client based on the Medway City Estate in Rochester, Kent specialise in high quality, creative products to connect people with places. They provide signs and furniture for a wide range of outdoor spaces including heritage sites, parks, town centres and more. They have a full range of in house manufacturing capability and years of experience in developing outdoor spaces into visitor attractions through the use of signs, interpretation displays and other park furniture. Their signage and furniture ranges come in a variety of materials including wood, metal and recycled plastic. They are dedicated to providing signage and outdoor furniture products of the highest quality.
They are looking for an experienced Estimator to join their Sales team asap. Ideally they are looking for someone who has estimating experience & knowledge of fabrication, engineering or joinery.
This excellent opportunity is offering a Salary of £30k per annum for the right person
Hours
8.30 a.m. – 5.00 p.m. Monday to Friday
Holiday Entitlement
20 days plus all statutory bank holidays
The Role
Working primarily for the public, heritage and conservation sectors we make anything from bespoke finger post & way marking direction signs, benches, litter bins, lecterns, notice boards & monoliths to exhibition displays and even working models of waterwheels! We’re looking for an experienced Estimator with the ability to turn our customer’s visions into reality.
Working closely with our sales team, product designers and fabricators, you will develop concept ideas, liaise with third party suppliers, estimate labour times and create Bills of Material.
You will be hard working, meticulous and love a challenge! There is so much variety in what we do and a background in fabrication, engineering or joinery would be an advantage.
You must share our passion for turning concepts into finished products and embrace the complexities of developing bespoke solutions and the responsibility that goes with it.
The ideal candidate will have:
* Excellent personal organisation skills
* Attention to detail and pride in every aspect of their work
* Good team working and communication skills (verbal and written)
* A working knowledge of Clarity™ software (training will be given)
* A background in signage or manufacturing and a broad knowledge of associated materials and processes
* A working knowledge of CAD
Responsibilities
* Estimating bespoke projects
* Interpret client’s needs for bespoke projects and advise Sales Team accordingly
* Work with Sales, Design and Production for bespoke concept development
* Obtain quotes from third party product and service suppliers
* Prepare detailed Bill of Quantities for materials, labour, delivery and installation
*Finalise detailed estimates for Sales Team to submit to client
* Estimating standard projects
*Prepare delivery quotes for high volume or local standard products
* Prepare quotations for installation works
* Liaise with Design and Production at project handover
* Brief Design Studio for creation of component drawings
* Manage Change of Detail requests throughout life of a job and advise departments accordingly
* Produce monthly reports for enquiry values, sales totals and conversion rates
* Update price lists and base costs in line with price increases as and when required
* Other administrative duties as required
