About Our Client

Leading Insurance Company with an excellent client base are seeking to attract an EL / PL Claims Handler to join their vibrant and forward thinking team in Whitstable.

Working within the Commercial Liability Team, the key purpose of this role is pro-actively manage a portfolio of EL and PL cases from initial notification through to final settlement. Being a senior member of the team you will also support the training and development of new members of staff as well as taking responsibility for the management, negotiation and settlement of some of the more complex and high value cases.

Job Description

- Manage a caseload of EL and PL claims from notification stage through to final settlement.
- Provide technical and coaching support to other members of the team.

The Successful Applicant

- Minimum of 5 years` experience in dealing with all aspects of EL and PL claims
- A proven track record of settling higher value injury claims up to or exceeding £100K
- Exceptional ability to gather and process information and make effective assessments on more complex cases
- Experienced in sending detailed instructions to expert witnesses and solicitors
- Able to coach and develop less experienced members of the team
- A calm and professional attitude at all times.

Desirable Skills

- Knowledge of disease claims is an advantage, but not essential.
- Experience in the handling of commercial property claims is also an asset, but not a requirement.
- EL and PL experience gained in an Insurer or Loss Adjuster environment is preferred
- Progression with CII or CILA studies.
