Kit and Caboodle Media Ltd is an exciting digital agency company based in our cutting edge office located in the heart of the Folkestone’s Creative Quarter – we even have a slide in the office! In addition we also provide accountancy & bookkeeping services for several companies in various industries, including Rocksalt & The Smokehouse. We are looking for a full time Accounts Apprentice.

As an apprentice you would spend one day each week at college gaining AAT level qualifications. The apprenticeship is guaranteed for a period of one year. However, there is a possibility, if you are working well and enjoying yourself, to continue with the apprenticeship all the way to Level 4 AAT, which should take 3 years. This is a qualification that you can take with you into accountancy practice and is a recognised industry qualification which could be the basis for you to continue on with accountancy qualifications and even run your own accountancy practice one day. The sky really could be the limit!

We are looking for someone aged 16-18 with a minimum of 5 A* - C Grade GCSE’s (including Math’s and English), who has bags of enthusiasm and is willing to learn new skills. You will need to work hard in your studies whilst gaining “on the job experience” four days per week in the office. We will help you learn the various skills you need and will keep a watchful eye as you put them into practice. Ideally you will be self motivated and eager to learn but with a keen eye for attention to detail.

Day to day duties within the accounts team which you will start to learn and perform during the first year are:-

• Cash book postings
• Bank reconciliation
• Sales invoicing and maintaining sales ledger
• Purchase ledger postings and supplier statement reconciliation
• Investigating and answering routine queries
• Analyse basic financial information
• Identify and resolve errors and discrepancies
• Create, develop and maintain accounting spreadsheets
• General assistance to the accounts department
• Debt chasing
• Filing
• Bacon Roll Run!
