We are currently recruiting for a Construction Buyer to join an established family-run business in Rochester, Kent!
Salary available is negotiable dependent on experience!
This is a full time, permanent position.
Overview of the role:
Supporting the Procurement Manager in managing materials and procurement.
Duties will include:
• Negotiation and placing of all material and plant orders for numerous sites.
• Ensuring all materials are delivered on time and within tight budgets.
• Proactively make recommendations on specifications to group deals and better performing products.
• Identify strategic procurement opportunities for the business.
• Grow supply chain and account manage.
• Managing integration of material spec change.
• Ensure invoice queries are completed for month end.
• Monitor supplier performance.
• Compile site comparisons for sites.
• Dealing with site queries in a swift and prompt manner.
Experience Required:
• Construction Industry Buying.
• Commercial Awareness.
• Strong negotiation skills and account management.
• Ability to read and understand specification of works and drawings.
• Understanding build progression.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience.
