Due to expansion an exciting opportunity has arisen at Kenard Engineering Company for two newly graduated Mechanical Engineers. Kenard Engineering is a well established, privately owned manufacturing company specialising in CNC flexible machining, using state of the art multi-pallet machine tools, manufacturing components for the aerospace and telecommunications industries.

One position reports to the Operations Director and duties will include:

• Supporting the Sales Team in the compilation of commercial estimates and tenders ensuring that financial targets are maintained

• Assisting in the accuracy of estimates, you will be expected to discuss manufacturing times, methods, material & sub contracting costs

• To obtain quotations from material & sub contract suppliers as required

• To provide information to the Sales Team and to produce estimated delivery schedules at the time of quotation

• From time to time and as directed by the Operations Director you will be required to act as a Project Manager for specific customers or orders

• To liaise with your colleagues in Production on the delivery requirements and work load implications of potential orders


The other position reports to the Production Manager and duties will include:

• Progressing manufactured parts through the shop floor specifically for aerospace customers
• Reporting delivery dates back to customers
• Producing a weekly delivery schedule
• Booking out parts for delivery to aerospace customers which entails working closely with the Quality Department and chasing paperwork to ensure the parts are signed off correctly
• Liaising with our Sub-Con Co-ordinator to book parts out to our subcontractors for various treatments and processes
• Working with the Production Manager to estimate monthly turnover figures
• Updating our internal information system to align with customer deliveries

Desirable skills include:
• Being self-motivated and able to work using own initiative
• Good hands-on skills and being a practical person would be an advantage
• A genuine interest in engineering, being keen, with drive and ambition
• A desire for continuous improvement and to help develop an increase in turnover

Training will be given for both of these roles.

These positions have a starting salary of £21,000 for a newly graduated engineer.
